Gill-Mac Partners partnered with a top Texas-based, vertically integrated, multi-billion-dollar multifamily and mixed-use real estate firm. The client is a fully integrated owner, investor, developer, and operator, with in-house general contracting and property management capabilities.

 

The Challenge


The firm was entering a new phase of growth and required a senior development executive to lead and scale its multifamily development platform across multiple high-growth Sun Belt markets. This was a newly created leadership role, critical to managing an expanding pipeline of large-scale multifamily and mixed-use development projects.

The client needed a proven development leader able to oversee the full life cycle of complex deals while building and leading a regional development team across multiple states.

 

The Assignment


Gill-Mac Partners was engaged to recruit and place a Regional Development Partner and Managing Director of Multifamily Development. The role was designed to provide senior leadership across Texas, Colorado, and Arizona, with responsibility for the firm’s multifamily and mixed-use development strategy and execution in these markets.

 

Scope of Responsibility


The placed executive is responsible for managing the regional development business and team, including:


  • Development deal sourcing and acquisitions

  • Underwriting and financial modeling

  • Entitlements and business plan execution

  • Capital structuring and deal execution through closing

  • Oversight of construction (podium, wrap, and garden-style assets)

  • Lease-up, asset management coordination, and dispositions
